RIYADH, 11 July — A Saudi citizen infected with coronavirus was successfully evacuated from Indonesia on Saturday, and was safely brought home, Saudi Gazette reported.

Acting on Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman’s directives, the Aeromedical Evacuation Department of the Ministry of Defense Health Services evacuated the citizen affected with COVID-19 from Indonesia to Saudi Arabia.

The medical evacuation plane arrived in Riyadh after an 18-hour flight, carrying a double aircrew to deal with the case while taking all precautionary measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus.

The citizen, who was infected with the coronavirus, undertook one of the longest flights to reach Saudi Arabia.

More than 90 coronavirus cases were evacuated by air medical evacuation planes without any of the medical and aircrew getting infected. — Saudi Gazette
