KUALA LUMPUR, 20 January — Malaysia recorded 4,008 new cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday, 20 January, raising the total number of cases in the country to 169,379. 5 cases are imported.
The Ministry of Health announced the recovery and discharge of 2,374 new cases, making the total number of recovered cases 127,662, with a recovery rate of 74.4%.
Another 11 new deaths were recorded today, bringing the death toll in Malaysia to 630. Death rate still at 0.4%.
MOH said there are currently 41,087 actives cases being treated at hospitals and quarantine centres, with 246 patients in intensive care units, and 96 on ventilator support.
State of Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 1,391 new cases, followed by the capital Kuala Lumpur with 513 cases, and the state of Johor with 470.
