Astana – Under the auspices of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Astana International Forum 2025 will take place from May 29 to 30, as it continues its mission of fostering cross-border dialogues on international diplomacy and cooperation. Against a backdrop of global disruption and polarization, the Forum will bring together government leaders, business executives, and academics to explore practical solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.
Commitments and Partnerships
The Astana International Forum is a clear symbol of this commitment. Building on the success of the 2023 Forum – which welcomed more than 5,000 international attendees – this year’s participants will address the critical issues shaping the future of the international system, as well as emerging trends impacting key sectors.
Divided into three core themes – Foreign Policy and International Security, Energy and Climate Change, and Economy and Finance – the event’s program will feature high-level one-on-one sessions with heads of state and industry leaders, as well as larger panel discussions with renown experts and policymakers.
With its strategic location and growing international engagement, Kazakhstan is playing an increasingly active role in facilitating cross-border cooperation during times of geopolitical strain. A historic link between East and West, the country has long advocated for an inclusive international system and remains firmly committed to achieving this goal.
Reflecting the Forum’s commitment to building new partnerships and facilitating cooperation, each session will aim to generate fresh perspectives on the diplomatic, economic, and social issues that will define the next decade. Under the theme “Connecting Minds, Shaping the Future,” this year’s Forum aims to set the agenda for a new era of multilateralism and diplomacy.

Tokayev and Challenges
From his excellency, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said I his foreword:” As I reflect on the challenges facing
our world today, I am struck by the continued impact of many crises but also by the ways in which they are
reshaping our global landscape in fundamental ways. From geopolitical upheavals and economic shocks to
pandemics and the resurgence of violent extremism, each challenge triggers another search for
answers, another struggle to devise collaborative solutions.
This is the conviction that drives the Astana International Forum. Against a backdrop of uncertainty and growing skepticism, it offers a space – and a critical opportunity – for global leaders, thinkers, and doers, to come together to chart a new path forward. Above all, it provides an essential platform to engage in dialogue with a purpose: the promotion of cooperation, innovation and prosperity. Uniquely situated at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Kazakhstan bridges East and West. This strategic vantage point on the world – geographically, culturally, and politically – positions us to drive these crucial conversations and to foster meaningful collaboration among the world’s foremost policymakers, business leaders, and public intellectuals.
AIF2025 is poised to once again re-energize the global community, offering fresh perspectives and collaborative solutions to some of the most critical challenges facing humanity today. I look forward to welcoming you to Astana for AIF2025”.
